From an innocent email inquiry to a blossoming community of parents and kids: This is how Strathearn resident and Stay and Play instigator Chris Samuel could describe the last several months. Since November, every Friday morning from 9am – 11am Samuel has been hosting an ever expanding group of parents and kids at the Strathearn rink shack.
“It’s been extremely rewarding to get the Stay and Play group up and running,” says Samuel.
Unfortunately, the facility will soon be demolished as construction begins on the new Strathearn Community Hall but it won’t be the end of the mighty Strathearn Stay and Play. Samuel and some attendees are planning to keep the group together over the nicer months meeting outdoors in anticipation of a brand spanking new facility come the fall.
“We’ve developed a great network of parents from around the neighbourhood but none of it would have been possible without the tremendous support from the Strathearn Community League.”
If you’d like to join the Friday morning parents group please contact the Strathearn Community League through our website or on FB.
