The Strathearn Community League was founded in August 1953 when the post-war building boom created a brand new neighbourhood almost overnight. In an effort to increase their recreational options, residents decided to join the Edmonton Federation of Community Leagues. More than 50 years later, recreation is only a small part of the community league movement.
